This photo is from the Deborah (Gibbs) Gunter collection. Dr. Wade was born in West Liberty, Kentucky in 1832. He migrated to Benton where in 1858 he married Ann Henderson, daughter of Dr. Alex S. Henderson and Mary Duncan. They were the parents of nine children. Dr. Wade practiced medicine in Benton and the surrounding territory. Between 1872-1876, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives. He delivered a baby on the morning of his death which was caused by a heart attack. Dr. Wade is buried in the Benton Cemetery.
